Guest guest
All I can tell you is my personal experience. When I drink cold drinks I have a coughing fit. Or when I go from a warm area to a cold area I have a coughing fit. Or when I do dishes with the steamy hot water I have a coughing fit. Its a touch of asthma. Doctors gave me tests for asthma, but I passed all. So thier conclusion is a slight touch of asthma. I take claritin almost daily. It helps. Guest guest
Yes because of my slight mild asthma the doctors gave me an inhaler just incase I couldnt breathe. I have used it a few times but now I know what triggers my coughing I can take control of it... susan

Guest guest
Kathy Sometimes if kids or anyone drinks to fast they can aspirate a little fluid That means a little of what ever they are drinking goes into there lungs and makes them cough Try having her drink slower and see if the same thing happens I am a physical therapist and I often times see this with patients I am working with good luck Amy

Guest guest
Hi there sorry I didn't tell all around my sons coughing. When he has inflammation he also often gets it in his airways which is not asthma but like it because the inflammation closes up the air way and causes a dry cough. that is why he gets an inhaler but he also is not true but clinical fmf. ************** Start the year off right. Guest guest
I know I did in the beginning God's Blessings Coughing Dear everybody! I'm really enjoying my time with LifeLift thus far, but just wanted to check on something. Did anyone out there find that you coughed a little while doing the program? It isn't uncontrollable by any means, and I'm not sick or a smoker, but I notice a phlegmy (spelling?) cough sometimes during my workouts. Thanks you guys, You're great! ~
Guest guest
Hi , It has been my experience that when people first start doing the breathing program they cough. I believe it is because they are finally getting air to the bottom lobes of the lungs and are drying that part of the lungs out. Most people have a lot of fluid in the lungs from shallow breathing. I don't know if this is true, it is just what seems to happen. It seems that most people get their lungs dried out in about a month or so. Hope this helps, Karma Coughing Dear everybody! Guest guest
My son had a myotomy almost two years ago. His football team won state this year so needless to say he is very active and never slows down. The problem is he catches every illness he come in contact with. He has had a cough and cold non stop since sept. He went to the doctor a month ago with walking pneumonia . Is this normal? I try to get him to slow down and relax but he just does not get it. He has spasms quite regularly. I hate this stupid disease. I'd take it from him in a heartbeat. Cullen's mom,
Guest guest
Dear , Has your son had the pneumonia shot? My surgeon recommended it and I think it lasts 10 years. Also he should probably take the flu shot. Those are obviously not going to help with everything, but I had bronchitis and walking pneumonia several times before my surgery, had the shot, and haven't had it since, with the myotomy of course. I do avoid germy kids because any little cold can turn into that annoying cough forever because our esophagus doesn't move things down. I don't touch escalator rails or other germy places, but trying to get your son to avoid those things is difficult. I'm guessing it is hard to keep him sleeping propped up on pillows, but maybe try those bed risers at just the head of his bed. Keeping any fluids out of his esophagus at night will help. You might consider if he has allergies and some drainage from that, maybe he needs to try something like Claritin. But getting him to take a pill once a day is difficult. I'd think the risers at the head of his bed might help most and trying to get him to drink water often so he moves all that junky stuff down his esophagus might help.
