Guest guest
Hello all This is my 3rd time on board. My name is Susie, 4+ years of doctors & dozens of tests. Recently, abdominal ultrasound, 2nd manommetry both normal. Two balloon dilations failed last Feb. By then I was being looked at as a mental case & told to see a shrink, even though only liquified foods & water would go down. Worst episode 2 months ago was when I had to vomit...I collapsed half way thru the kitchen, burning pain in mid-chest took me to my knees as it felt like a small car battery was stuck in my chest. Pain finally passed, I got up & vomited 1 oz of water. That's when I realized how tiny the opening is in my esophagus, all that effort to bring water up or down. Found a new GI, he did an EGD & a Maloney Bougie dilation same day & I was suddenly able to eat soft food for the 1st time in over a year. He plans to follow that up soon with a " hot dog " dilation as soon as special equip. is ordered. He quickly scheduled a soft bowel follow thru barium swallow & found all of my intestines are reversed (on wrong side of my body) & tangled. Said the muscles above & below my stomach are so tight, he doesn't know how food gets into or out of my stomach. Next test Feb 1st is a barium enema. So I am a mess & gotta wonder how all this was missed considering years of elaborate tests & endless doctors ! Anyway, I must catch up, learn fast & fit in here with all of you experts. Best, Susie
