Guest guest
I have had several dilations over about a 30 year span and they've always been under general anesthesia. Unless you had some kind of reason you couldn't get knocked out - I wouldn't do it any other way. You wake up a bit sore - kind of like a sore throat only further down - but there is no real pain - just got to eat soft foods for a day or two. Cancer link is questionable - there have been studies - if you search esophageal cancer you may find some previous posts but I wouldn't worry about it too much. No permanent cure - only good, effective treatments with a highly experienced doctor. Don't know of anyone from Pakistan - sorry! Stick around though, you never know who shows up! Glad you found us. ~ in NC
