Shamira.

I just had the VATS Heller Myotomy on April 12th. I am not having any

constant pain in my incision site. When I walk fast, with lots of movement

there is a tiny twinge. I think just from the movement, interrupting the

healing. Since they removed the chest tube, I have only had over the

counter chewable tylenol for my throat that was hurting from the tubes. It

sounds to me like there is something going on. Is the incision red or

swollen??

I would get a second opinion. My heart goes out to you both. That was a

tough surgery. I pray for the best for you!

Thank you Marci. Her incision site looks great, it looks like a scratch. She

says it is not tender in at all there is just pain :(.

Shamira - it is possible that she's having spasms? it's very common to have them

increase after surgery. Is the pain at her sternum? going through her back? she

had a thoracotomy? that can be painful for quite a while - does a heating pad at

the site help? is it at all related to her swallowing?

I'm not sure if any of this helps but if we can get a better description of her

pain - maybe we can help.

How long ago was her surgery?

I'm so sorry she is going through this and that you have to see it... it's so

awful when your children are in pain.

Please keep us posted.
