Guest guest
Here is an insider edge. If you look at your insurances webpage, search for Pediatric achalasia. Does any thing come up? Call your insurance company and ask the question ... Do you know of any specialists in PEDIATRIC ACHALASIA in my network? Ask for the Definition of Achalasia and course of treatment... Ask the date of the information and the source. Likely they will not have any of the information from above. If they have the definition it is one they get off Google. It probably says dilation. Tell them this is archaic and not the recommend method today.. Ask them if you can get a referral to the specialist how long will it take for approval. Specialists of this caliber have assistants that get the approvals all the time. Especially in Peds. They already know chances are you have to travel to a Children's Hospital somewhere. Next... money.. there are sources for money, if you contact me I can help you with ways to fund.. If you have a need, there are people on this board who can help fund a trip. I know with Gas at $4.00 gallon it is impossible to think about going on a 2000 mile round trip. Some people think cause your outside aren't messed up, and your brain functions that your rare disorder isn't important.. Press on what it might be like to starve to death.. Good luck moms, Mom to Cameron myo'd and fundo'd 05 California Collegiate Shooting Sports 4-H All-Star Advisor to the most awesome kids of Amador County! Guest guest
If your insurance will not pay or has high deductibles, other hospital has charity cares, double check on that to see if you get qualified and also try to apply for Medicaid for your child. I work at a hospital dealing with pt insurance and a lot of people think they will not qualified for MEDICAID or sometimes they are so embarrass to think of applying. The way I look at it is that anything will help you for your health to make you better, take it. Some states has programs for kids (some might ask you for a small fee and they pay the rest) hospitals do have charity care (believe me they do).. so pls do for your child. I know as a mother, it hurts to see our kids suffer. My daughter will have a follow-up visit with her GI on Tuesday, pls send me an email to what state and city you reside and I will ask her doc if he can suggest the best doc who knows ACHALASIA in your area. This docs they do conference every year or has their own networking.. God bless! ________________________________ From: Carolyn <wooleeacre@...> achalasia <achalasia > Sent: Thu, March 10, 2011 2:31:20 AM Subject: moms of kids with Achalasia  Here is an insider edge.
