Thanks. I will try to test to see if there are any rattles in the chest.

I do get spasms from my arthritis but they occur in a different area and don

t usually respond to the water trick. I have to resort to ibuprofen for

those. This weather has been making it act up lately, on top of working more

hours. It's good to know that the sore muscles are probably just the result

of overworking those muscles. I have been more tired lately but have

attributed that to being woke up due to spasms.

Your last paragraph might (and I stress might) sound like walking pneumonia.

Often you think you are fine. For myself I test it by trying to push out

all the air from my lungs and listen for rattles in my chest. Push really

hard, using all your muscles to get the last air out. It might vibrate and

sound like wrinkling paper. If you put your hands over your lungs or have

someone hold their hand on your back you might feel the vibration.

If it is, an antibiotic cleans you up pretty quickly. You might feel tired

and have night sweats, but there aren't often runny nose or sinus issues.

Your arthritis might be confused with spasms. I have arthritis in a thumb

and now, thinking about it, it is a very similar pain.

Let us know.

I have found the cause of the heaviness in my chest. I have a cold started

and I also have seasonal allergies which have flared up due to the extreme

changes in weather we have been having lately. Another thing is on top of

the arthritis, I have strained the muscles in my upper chest and shoulder

areas from lifting too many heavy items at work. Thank goodness it wasn't

walking pneumonia.
