I don't remember hearing anything specific to cold but it has been

reported that the esophagus can become hypersensitive to pain

stimulation. It can also become insensitive which is why we need to be

checked once in while to see if there are problems in the esophagus.

There could be damaging acid reflux and no symptoms of pain or heartburn.
