Guest guest
, I had a HM almost a year ago, have had several medical tests done since, was finally diagnosed with nerve damage to stomach. I am having additional testing completed in May 2011. I had the gastric emptying test done in January, diagnosis was a stomach that emptied too quickly. I am not nausaus, but have very bad pain every time I eat, can consume very little. Good luck to you!! Hope you have excellent doctors available to you!! Barb > > I am going to have a gastric emptying test done in the near future to see if my nausea may be from gastroparesis or some sort of blockage in the stomach.I noticed that sometimes as a result of a myotomy damage is done to the vagus nerve.Sometimes it make take a year or more before the symptoms of gastroparesis show up.I'm hoping that it is something else but notice that Zofran doesn't seem to have much of an effect on the nausea anymore. If anyone has any info on the relationship between achalasia and gastroparesis fill free to enlighten me. > >

Guest guest
His gi doc did a endoscopy in march, found gatorade in his stomach after being npo for 9 hours. That was the last thing he drank the night before, and I know he didn't " cheat " . He also has a low folate level...angela Sent from my Verizon Wireless BlackBerry Re: Achalasia and Gastroparesis > > , > I had a HM almost a year ago, have had several medical tests done since, was finally diagnosed with nerve damage to stomach. Guest guest
I get sharp pains at the bottom of my rib cage on both sides.Other members thought that these were possibly spasms, but I wonder if they have something to do with this gastric emptying problem.I am hoping that this is not the problem.I don't want anything to do with a feeding tube. > > > > I am going to have a gastric emptying test done in the near future to see if my nausea may be from gastroparesis or some sort of blockage in the stomach.I noticed that sometimes as a result of a myotomy damage is done to the vagus nerve.Sometimes it make take a year or more before the symptoms of gastroparesis show up.I'm hoping that it is something else but notice that Zofran doesn't seem to have much of an effect on the nausea anymore. If anyone has any info on the relationship between achalasia and gastroparesis fill free to enlighten me. > > > > > > > > > >

I don't believe there is an officially accepted connection but they both result from nerve damage. notan
