Guest guest
So nice to hear from you Adam! My sister has Asperger Syndrome, its nice to see a young man who is able to function, they gave us such a grim outcome for her but we believe that she can do better than they are saying. Do you mind if I ask, do you work? Did you go to college? Do you drive? Im just trying to get a hope that will be able to do the " normal " things that she is hoping to do. She is so brilliant, just no social skills, LOL! And as you probably realize, she gets obsessive over things to the exclusion of all else, How do you cope with that side of the syndrome? Please, again, Im just trying to get some hope for the future for her, they want to put her in sheltered industries and treat her like she is developmentally disabled, I know that she isnt, she just has a sensory integration problem and lack of significant social skills (wow! can you tell Im a psych nurse?) Im trying to convince my mom and step father that she can do more than they are giving her credit for so anything you can tell me that I can tell them would be wonderful! Thanks and if anything I asked is too personal please let me know. > > Adam here once more, for those of you whom may not have a > good working knowlege of Asperger Syndrome, let me say that, > it's a variant of Autism which, tends to be fairly common > these days with so many diagnosis each and every year.Anyways, > despite having a great amount of healt issues along side my > Asperger's > I still do try to enjoy life by taking in the occasional > movie or reading some of my favorite Horror novels as well, > I write poetry from time to time too! Guest guest
Dr. Luketich did my ectomy 3 years ago next week. He's VERY busy but really great and when you see him, he really listens to you - good bedside manner and excellent surgeon. He Does 150 ectomies a year so he knows his way around an esophagus. Don't you live in Pittsburgh?? If so, you are so fortunate to be so close to both Dr. Luketich and Dr. Rice - I wouldn't look any further than the 2 of them. See them both and decide based on your gut and who you like the best and don't look back! keep us posted ~ in NC > > Hey thank you everyone that responded to the post about dr. Rice.
