Guest guest
I've been thinking of you all! I hope everyone was able to make the best out of the holiday season, and enjoy it with loved ones! The holidays went by wayyyy too fast for me. I've invited three people to this group this afternoon, one of which is a nurse who, wonderfully stated, hadn't heard of Achalasia before and found it all interesting. We were very chatty after I read a *wonderful* personal journey that she too was responding to. Abigail just shared that she had been a member of this group back in the beginning (low membership numbers) and has submitted her request to join. Wow, has the group ever grown in numbers! Mixed blessing aside, it's so good to know that the group is being discovered and utilized! I just went through the files section, links etc. and discovered there are a few that need a little help from friends. So the burning question -- will 2011 be our year? The year we get the non-profit for research and education off the ground and running? I would love to see this happen, I truly will! :-)) Very, very brief update for those who remember me and would maybe like a brief update. I have helped a bit behind the scenes to help advance research efforts (for megaE, then MegaE and DM combined), then a bit with EPI (Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency). Once the research is completed for EPI specific (the other grant for megaE/DM is ahead of the EPI), then the megaE specific research can commence. One step at a time! I anticipate, when we get to open that door, that some aspects will be newly discovered and I hope, of course, that the further discoveries will help our community here. Time will tell. Crossing fingers and saying prayers. Notan, , Maggie and *all* -- I wish you the best, now and always! To 2011... let's make it happen,k?! Hugs for health! Peg M.
