I haven't heard of an esophagus bouncing back. I envision it like stretched out

pantyhose, if you are that old. You may be able to halt the stretching with

treatment. That vision is why I turned almost compulsive about regurging. If

it didn't go down, then I brought it right back up. But I think I obsessed

about it, more than others.

Treatment is about it. Myotomy or dilatation are the normal methods.

Some people try vitamins, acupuncture and such things. You probably

won't get your esophagus back to like new, but hopefully you will

improve on the current condition. You most likely have some nerve damage

that will not be fixed. Some will argue that point. So, the idea with

treatment is to open up the connection between the esophagus and stomach

so that food and drinks trying to get through don't do anymore damage

and the structure of the esophagus has a chance to recover some, but

likely not completely.
