Guest guest
Welcome to the group, I've not heard of Dr. J. Morton, but I have heard of Dr. Lawrence at UCSF, if you google it, he has a video of the myotomy surgery. Either way, just make sure that you feel that they answer your questions and have alot of experience, I would think that 500 is a good number. When I had my surgery back in August, I asked my doctor what she was doing and why. I also wanted to know about the wrap, which kind and what I could expect. The surgery will probably help you alot, it is the best thing I ever did. Wishing you all the best, Julee So. Its gotten to the point (6cm diameter)that I'm going to pursue surgery. Any specific names of surgeons in the Bay Area that you've had success with? I'm speaking to Dr J. Morton (Stanford University)- someone on this forum listed him as having over 500 Heller Myotomoy's he has preformed. Anyone have experience with him? Thank you for any advice/help! Guest guest
Thanks ...I appreciate the doctors name and I'll look up the video. I actually meet with the surgeon ( I have done a lot of research and read a lot of feedback here from this group as well) and he seemed to be very informed. He is recommending a Heller Mytomoy and Dor fundoplication. In the past 5 yrs only had one person (out of approx 200 Heller's) return for a follow-up surgery.Never a " break through " to the inside esophageal wall or problems with the wrap being too tight or not tight enough. My esophogus is at 5cm (stage 2;close to stage 3)but he felt I would receive good results from the procedure. Any other advice would be appreciated! Thanks again!!! > > Welcome to the group, > > I've not heard of Dr. J.
