Guest guest
There are some great diets that seem to handle yeast infections. I think it is Candida Albicans. I would search the web. They eliminate foods that encourage yeast. Share what you have found and let us know if it is working for you. in SB In a message dated 5/28/2011 3:42:40 P.M. They usually treat it with an fungal medication. That is probably what your doctor did. Yeast are normal in and on the body but they are generally controlled and don't cause problems. Yeast can be opportunistic though and take advantage of problems to over populate and cause problems. Yeast tend to like a warm wet place with a source of food. The esophagus is warm and wet and when food is trapped there they are happy, especially if the immune system is weak. We don't all get candida though even if we do have food stuck in the esophagus. That may be because yeast tends not to compete well with other microbes and the esophagus normally has an assortment of microbes living in it. Taking antibiotics may give yeast the opportunity it needs or anything that disturbs the other microbe could. Some things people are likely to suggest are: more anti-fungal meds, do something reduce the food in the esophagus (especially the kinds yeast like), build up your immune system and take some probiotics to compete with the yeast. Also, make sure you are not diabetic or that you have it under control, yeast likes that extra sugar. I don't have any experience with yeast so hopefully someone that has will have some thoughts. notan [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
