We eat or drink things that are too hot and it get stuck at the LES or move through slowly therefor burning it. I am sure I felt this happen and then for a few days things were a bit more sticky there and it just didn't feel right. I also think we may do that with pills, lemons and other things that irritate the lining of the esophagus. We may know about pills but there are other things we eat, like lemons, that may also do it. Another way may be eating things that increase acid reflux. Your suggestion of going back toward the early post fundoplication diet at such times sounds like a good idea. Not just because it would be easier to swallow but because with the good choices it may help the LES heal and get over the inflammation. notan
