It will be six months this week since my esophagectomy. It is amazing how fast

time goes by and how the body can heal itself over time. Aside from mild Iron

deficiency anemia and some issues with late dumping syndrome I am starting to

feel like I did many years ago before achalasia had effected my life so greatly.

For the first time in years I am really able to focus on getting my career back

on track and living a normal life. I haven't had any NCCPs since the surgery,

which has been wonderful, and aside from foods that cause dumping syndrome I

can pretty much eat anything I want without issue. I may have had bread stuck a

few times but nothing a little sip of water couldn't wash right down. Energy

levels are still low some days but I think if I can get my iron levels up a

little that may improve more as well. Looking back six months ago there is no

way I could see how much my life would have improved from the surgery. It seemed

like such a long road to recovery at the time so I am very thankful how I have

progressed. Hoping for continued improvement over the next few months. Best to

everyone.

Regards,

Jeff from Arizona
