Guest guest
I had a very successful myotomy in 2005 with Dr. Hutter at MA General in Boston: http://www.massgeneral.org/doctors/doctor.aspx?id=17062 I've also heard great things about Dr. Rattner: http://www.massgeneral.org/doctors/doctor.aspx?id=16613 > > Hello, > > Can anyone recommend a doctor who has a lot of experience and good results with dilatation and/or myotomy in New England? Guest guest
I had my surgery done by Dr Kent at Beth Israel Deaconess in Boston in November 2008. you can access him by looking him up under cardio-thoracic surgeons on their webpage. I'm not 100% but are any of us after surgery? much better than I was! Good Luck! > > > > Hello, > > > > Can anyone recommend a doctor who has a lot of experience and good results with dilatation and/or myotomy in New England? Guest guest
I had a heller myotomy in Jun '09 performed by Dr. Rattner at Mass General. He's very experienced with the procedure. Highly recommended. Best, Gene > > Hello, > > Can anyone recommend a doctor who has a lot of experience and good results with dilatation and/or myotomy in New England? Guest guest
thank you all for the doctors' names! Mass General sounds good, as I had my initial consultation there several years ago before my condition fully developed, although with a non-surgeon, so they may give me a choice of surgeons. I have been managing it quite successfully for the last three years with acupuncture and blender (after total blockage for several days with emergency room due to dehydration and near zero ability to swallow for several months). The main reason I am now considering invasive procedures is difficulty to travel and eat socially, and the need to mix supplements (which I am taking for another serious condition) with food/drink. However, only consider dilatation at this time -- hope that acupuncture will help to maintain the results longer. But want to have it done by an expert in Heller myotomy in case it goes wrong and they have to do an emergency surgery > > > > Hello, > > > > Can anyone recommend a doctor who has a lot of experience and good results with dilatation and/or myotomy in New England?
