We let Devin go on the rides he was able to and when he was done I decided that I would go on some rides with my girls since they can go on all of them... Well at the time my husband and i had been holding Devin's hand so he could walk some because he was is his stroller some.. I was able to go on 1 roller coster and Devin was ok with me walking away but when I was go to go on the 2nd one I walked away from Devin he started crying and ran after me and grabbed my hand so I decided to walk with him till we got to the ride.. Well we were at the ride I just walk away to get on the ride.. OMG Devin cryed and screamed for me he even said Momma 2 times my husband tryed to calm him down and people were stareing and a police officer even was watching.... Any way i went on the ride luckly there was no wait to get on. I got back to Devin and as soon as he saw me he stoped crying... It was the first time Devin has relized i was leaving him... I mean, not that he made a bit of a scene...but yes that he made a bit of a scene because he recognized that his mama was leaving and he's attached to you!! And he asked for you! I'm near tears here myself! How old is Devin? I'm so grateful that you shared this with us today. It may seem so small to anybody else, but we all know what a huge deal it is and every success and joyful moment buoys all of us I believe! Jake and I had a pleasant, unexpected interaction at the grocery store this morning that I wrote about on my blog if you want to check it out. Again, not a huge breakthrough or major milestone, but one of those small things that we all treasure and that help us make it through the rough days. BTW, I saw your post asking about Jake's behavior before Abilify and I'll respond to that ASAP...probably later tonight. Today is my older son's 12th birthday and I'm busy zesting lemons for the cake he requested (I know, lemon cake, no idea where he got that from but birthdays are sacred around here so he wants lemon, he gets lemon!) I will tell you that Jake was very aggressive and violent before Abilify and our situation had pretty much become critical, so while I don't say it out loud because I try not to be overdramatic, I admit that the thought that Abilify saved our lives has crossed my mind more than once. Hope your son has a happy birthday my NT daughter will be 14 the 25th.. I put Devin on prozac it helped him for a while and after a yr he became agressive so we tried Concerta also and it made him werse.. You can email me privately if you would like.. Guest guest Posted May 10, 2011 Report Share Posted May 10, 2011 as far as feeding tubes - I had a J tube after my ectomy - directly into my intestines - maybe that's an option for you? right now it seems it'd be easy enough - I'm sure they can do it with just local anesthetic but maybe it'd be an issue as the baby grows? I don't really know but it may be worth asking about. I only used my tube feeds at night - at home - not as portable I suppose but I knew I was only going to use it short term so I never looked into long term options. I guess my point is, you can still get the calories and nutrients you needed but without the inconvenience of having it on 24 hours a day.
