good old manometry

I read, with interest, the posts on the manometries we all get to

have.

I had one at UCLA with Dr. J. Conklin, and some other physicians in

the group came in to watch the results on the screen.  Whilst the

nurse was putting the delightful old tube down my nose, and I cannot

have lidocaine (anaphyllactic shock), I gagged a lot, I threw up (not

much at first, but after the tube was moved around a lot, and we changed

nostrils, bile came up---a life-long problem, actually) , I tried my best

to be a model patient, no complaining, sitting still, etc.

But, doggone, it's one heck of a test!

But, I did discover that if I could see the results as they came in on

the screen, I did much better.  So, Dr. Conklin brought the screen

closer to me, and showed me what was going on and it was a huge

difference in how I coped with that blasted wire.

And, it's in a splendid array of colors, too!

By the way, the posts I read today were really marvelous.  What a great

group of people!
