Guest guest
Just wondering if anyone else has had a positive ANA test (anti-nuclear antibody) along with a positive anti cyclic citrullinated antibody? Also another problem I am having quite frequently now that I believe is associated with my achalasia is that I am waking up with really bad chills (physically shaking) and high fevers, up to about 104, that last for about 8 hours. I assumed it was due to me coughing up into my lungs while I am laying down flat but my doctor doesn't seem to agree with me and thus has been running a lot of other tests on me. I cough up every night, but maybe once or twice a month I get these high fevers in the AM. Can this do long term damage to your lungs? I have been trying to get my achalasia under control for years now, but nothing has worked. I am still waiting to have surgery. Interesting enough, I am considered morbidly obese and have achalasia and I guess the surgery is not so friendly to people who have any sort of fat on their liver (per my surgeon). Anyone else have obesity problems with this disease?(I know it is an extreme rarity but I thought I would try) I would really like to hear from others! I am sick of talking to people who have no idea because they haven't seen or lived with this and I just keep feeling like I am getting left in the dark and made to suck up all the throwing up and coughing up just because I am still fat.
