I messed up squirting a little silicon caulking between some tiles that were coming loose in the shower. We told the owner over a year ago (and reminded them more than once) and nobody ever ame up, so before the water starts seeping down the wall to the apartment below, I did it myself. It looks like crap, but it's sealed again. > She came over yesterday and it took her an hour and 15 min. *Not* something to be done more than once a week or so. It was fun but > we are at very different points in our lives so it will be a little tricky > to maintain the friendship. Yeah, my best friend and I kind of wandered towards different paths when she divorced, remarried, and moved 400 miles away. She's now divorced again, her kids are grown and she's a grandmother twice over, and has totally different interests than I do now. We email each other now and then, but she wonders why I don't call or drive up to see her. > I wish it were a little cooler. It bums me out to wear short sleeves in Jan. It was the first time we had breakfast and lunch together in ages, and we even watched a video together, one we know Ed hates. By 4 pm he had enough of me and locked himself in his room again to play with his computer and hang out with his buddie son AIM, but it was fun while it lasted. I only have a few more years of him home so I'll take what I can get. >and my goal is to get my big desk cleaned off > so I have a nice place to study. Good luck! Henry gave up and sets up a tv tray when he needs a writing surface at home. I am pretty sure I have twins because I can feel the edges clearly on the one that Dr. K tried to repair when I had the DS and wasn't successful because as he said " it was humungous! " It has stayed pretty much the same and is near my C-section scar. The other one -- much MORE humungous -- is just above my umbilicus and near my DS scar. I don't want photos, thank you! Guest guest
Ann- Next summer I will be having the hernia repair/tummy tuck- actually, I could have it done now- but declined and requested for next summer. I am absolutely DREADING the entire process- but know that it is necessary....and inevitable. You are the first and only person that I have visited in the hospital that had the procedure. I debated within myself on visiting you...because I am freaking myself out enough already...(if ya know what I mean)- but felt it important to support you, as I know I will also be needing that support. I read your posting with GREAT interest, although wishing that your recovery was more on the " uneventful " side. Please know that your " process " is knowledge to me....and it helps me in my preparation. The uneventful surgeries...the ones that go so smoothly...are my " fantasy versions " ...but I believe in being prepared for harsh realities. Consider yourself my mentor on this upcoming new phase of my " recovery " ...and please guide me through your experiences. I give positive thoughts for our positive Ann- ~Sandi > If you have read this far, congratulations! Guest guest
I have made tortills cut them in half and made a pita sandwhich with it. that is low carb that way.. Just a hint of idea for dressing I use the low carb or no fat stuff Deb -- ann Ann, About tortilla's I have not been able to find any low cal tortillas butI did find whole wheat tortillas with lots of good fiber in them in thehealth food section of my local grocery store. I don't know what diet youare on but with Weight Watchers the fiber brings down the point value. Letme know if you find any with less calories. As for lean pockets you go forit girl. We are giving up lots of foods that we enjoyed in the past likefast food so we deserve something with less calories that at least tastesgood and is almost as fast, right. One thing that has helped me keep thecalories down is to learn to eliminate or at least lessen and use lowcalorie versions some of the extras like the sour cream and cheese. Ex: Iused to love tartar sauce with fish and without it I could not imaginebothering to eat it. I started by limiting the amount and getting used tolight miracle whip Well I found out that I love it even better with freshsqueezed lemon and now I can actually enjoy the taste of the fish withoutdrowning it in the tartar. This saves me enough calories for a snack later.Maybe a chicken taco with some salsa would end up tasting even better to youeventually and then you could have a tasty snack later on. I know we areall different but in time it gets easier and we all learn what works for us.Hang in there you are doing great. It sounds like most of us here are andwe should all be proud of the little changes we make every day. So what ifwe splurge every now and then as long as we go back to the good habits welearned and know work.I am the most important person I'm losing this weight for. - - "Daily Saying" from ' old web site100-Plus Files page 100-plus/files100-Plus Links page 100-plus/links

At playgroup my friends said to try the Mission low carb and whole wheat ones. I didn't make it to the store this afternoon but I'll go this weekend and read the labels. > health food section of my local grocery store. I don't know what diet you > are on but with Weight Watchers the fiber brings down the point value. I'm doing 2000 calories a day but I do try to watch fiber and use mostly whole grains. > As for lean pockets you go for it girl. We are giving up lots of foods that we enjoyed in the past like fast food so we deserve something with less calories that at least tastes > good and is almost as fast, right. Thanks. My sentiments exactly. We have to do what works for us as individuals. I'm not going to eat brown rice, soy cheese and textured vegetable protein every day. Just not gonna do it. That would be a recipe for failure. > calories down is to learn to eliminate or at least lessen and use low > calorie versions some of the extras like the sour cream and cheese. I used to use the Kraft reduced fat shredded sharp cheddar but it kept getting moldy so fast that I went back to regular. Usually I'd rather have less of the real stuff than more of the fake stuff. Light sour cream is fine though. > used to love tartar sauce with fish When we had boiled shrimp I made cocktail sauce with reduced sugar ketchup. I think tartar sauce is nasty stuff. > Maybe a chicken taco with some salsa would end up tasting even better to you > eventually Yes. If not on plan I would use lots of cheese but really just a little sharp cheddar gives a nice taste. > Hang in there you are doing great. Thanks!
