Guest guest
Isabella Sorry to hear that you are leaving the group. i fully understand that you no longer have the time to read and answer the posts. i personally will be sad to see your name not come up on the board. You have been such an inspiration and a friendly backup for me when things looked bad (and are still are but better). Good Luck for the future. from the UK From: Isabella Arnold <arnoldisabella@...> Achalasia <achalasia > Sent: Monday, February 28, 2011 7:46 PM Subject: Goodbye and thanks! Â Dear all, Long time no see, eh... This board has given me a lot, you friends have been there for me in the most difficult period of my life. You helped me through my hardest days as an achalasian and helped me through my decision period - whether to go through the -ectomy or not. Going for my -ectomy has been the best choice I ever made (well almost the best choice, ha ha, there were some other pretty good personal choices in my life as well, ha ha). My life has gotten so much better. People who don't know else, wouldn't think I ever had a problem with my esophagus, let alone think I now haven't got one anymore! I eat 3 times a day, pretty normal portions. I sometimes have dumping issues, but nothing bad. I am at my ideal weight and don't seem to gain or loose anymore. I get my B12-injections monthly and take iron meds every 3 months off and on. I lead a life that is much more healthy/normal than e.g. someone who suffers from diabetes etc. My -ectomy has been performed 3 years ago and 2 years later I was strong enough to decide to end my marriage - so next week that is one year ago. My life has improved tremendously. I am happy again, have a great new relationship, a lovely new home for me and my kids and still my job which I like. I have given up politics and my voluntary work for traffic issues - simply as I don't need that distraction anymore and rather spend my time doing nice things with my family. I notice that I don't have time anymore to read the posts here on the board, yet I receive dozens of board mails daily. That is why I decided to sign out - I will leave the board permanently. I don't want to be remembered of achalasia anymore - it is and will always be part of my life and made me to who I am now, but the book must be closed. When you close a book, you look back to what you have read with a smile on your face and that's exactly what I nowadays do regarding this all. I will try to stay in touch with the personal friends that this board has given me and should anyone at what time ever need my input, you have my e-mail address and should feel free to contact me. Thank you all so much for your help, support, love and care through all these years - I hope all goes well for you all and wishing you all the very best!!! Lots of love, Isabella
