Guest guest
I was glad to learn that more studies are being done in this regard because it's really the switch that turns the appetite on and off. However, there is another way around this and the bodybuilding community, as usual, is way out ahead of the rat pack. This method is discussed in my " You Are What You Eat " series on Dolfzine. It's been pretty well known for some time that to maintain your current body composition if you have a normal metabolism, you should consume in calories your body weight in pounds x 15 per day. That amount is broken down further into macronutrient ratios. Assuming that someone wants to lose fat, they can reduce their calorie intake to anywhere from 12 to 14 x body weight in pounds. Add to that, get about 40% from protein sources, 30% from vegetables and a bit of fruit and the rest from fat (which usually takes care of itself). Divide the number up into 5 or 6 meals. Measure out the food, eat what's on your plate and stop there. Eventually the fat will peel off -- not in a big hurry, but drastic diets are never healthy anyway. If you're still hungry after your " meal " then suck on a piece of sugar free hard candy and go surf the Net. Better yet, save your Supertraining Digest for after your meal. I've found this to absorb me well enough that very soon I forget all about eating more. The Internet does have redeming qualities after all! Guest guest
Dear ,  My theory about feeling full fast is that before the myotomy we have spent -maybe- many years eating little and often and the food basically just dripping into the stomach. Consequently the stomach has shrunk considerably and will take time to expand comfortably again. From my own experience, I know that this took at least a few months. Nowadays I have the stomach capacity to eat a three course meal if I wish.  Love from Ann From: Montoya <medhelpinfo@...> Subject: Re: Heller Op on Friday achalasia Date: Monday, 14 February, 2011, 18:24 I still feel very " full " fast. I still eat smaller portions, my doctor feels that because I was sick for so long, my stomach cannot handle so much food at once.
Guest guest
Hello Ann! So great to hear from you! I understand the concept of having to stretch out the stomach, it seems that for me, my colon gets nasty pains too! Maybe a combination of some IBS things going on with me. As long as I eat smaller amounts I am okay. I also seem to not do well with too many " raw " things as this causes colon irritations for me as well. I avoided those foods for years and now I am having a hard time digesting them? But my swallowing is doing super well! I am so happy! Take care Ann, Julee So Calif. ________________________________ From: Ann Higgs <lilac_blossom_lady@...> achalasia Sent: Tue, February 15, 2011 6:41:24 AM Subject: Feeling Full  Dear ,  My theory about feeling full fast is that before the myotomy we have spent -maybe- many years eating little and often and the food basically just dripping into the stomach.
