Guest guest
It would be sad if he had A but would be awesome exposure for A if he did but better he didn't. the only well known person ive heard of having A was Carl Sagan > > This is how my A started at age 75. I had GERD in the middle of the night, for several years. I BELIEVE the acid burnt the LES and caused MY Achalasia. That is MY belief. Some studies also suggest this as a problem, maybe 7% acording to notan. Will see if I can find the old references. > > After this had two 16 mm dilations in the E but not in the LES, which caused me to regurgitate all the time. > > http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-31749_162-20044202-10391698.html > > According to USA Today, Philbin, 79, has been suffering from an acid reflex-type of stomach problem for months. > > He said that he would drink barium and then have an X-ray or MRI. When " Live " executive Gelman asked if the show could film the procedure, Philbin said, " No. " > > Also he was going in for a dilation. > > Wonder if he has Achalasia? Guest guest
Cant find anything about Achalasia so far, maybe a different name. Ray Carl Sagan http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carl_Sagan After a long and difficult fight with myelodysplasia, which included three bone marrow transplants, Sagan died of pneumonia at the age of 62 at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle, Washington, on December 20, 1996.[61] He was buried at Lakeview Cemetery in Ithaca, New York.[62] The myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS, formerly known as " preleukemia " ) are a diverse collection of hematological (blood-related) medical conditions that involve ineffective production (or dysplasia) of the myeloid class of blood cells. MDS has been found in humans, cats and dogs. > > > > This is how my A started at age 75. I had GERD in the middle of the night, for several years. Do you know what kind of stricture it was? Maybe a ring or web, such as a Schatzki ring? Perhaps the stricture became worse causing the regurgitation. Acid reflux is known to cause esophageal strictures. This is one reason why controlling acid is important for anyone with achalasia. We don't need more strictures. notan
