It would be sad if he had A but would be awesome exposure for A if he did but

better he didn't. the only well known person ive heard of having A was Carl

Sagan

several years. I BELIEVE the acid burnt the LES and caused MY Achalasia. That is

MY belief. Some studies also suggest this as a problem, maybe 7% acording to

notan. Will see if I can find the old references.

Cant find anything about Achalasia so far, maybe a different name.

Ray

Carl Sagan

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carl_Sagan

After a long and difficult fight with myelodysplasia, which included three bone

marrow transplants, Sagan died of pneumonia at the age of 62 at the Fred

Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle, Washington, on December 20,

1996.[61] He was buried at Lakeview Cemetery in Ithaca, New York.[62]

The myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS, formerly known as " preleukemia " ) are a

diverse collection of hematological (blood-related) medical conditions that

involve ineffective production (or dysplasia) of the myeloid class of blood

cells. MDS has been found in humans, cats and dogs.

Encyclopedia.Com

Sagan, Carl

http://www.encyclopedia.com/topic/Carl__Sagan.aspx

" Sagan suffered for much of his life from achalasia, a swallowing

disorder for which he was at times hospitalized. "

The Guardian--Books--Biography

Carl Sagan: A Life by Keay son, Wiley

http://www.guardian.co.uk/books/1999/nov/20/biography

" ...to the onset, at the age of 18, of achalasia, a disease in which the

throat is liable to constrict uncontrollably, and which almost killed him. "

If I understand you here, you had two dilatations for another stricture

other than the achalasia. Do you know what kind of stricture it was?

Maybe a ring or web, such as a Schatzki ring? Perhaps the stricture

became worse causing the regurgitation. Acid reflux is known to cause

esophageal strictures. This is one reason why controlling acid is

important for anyone with achalasia. We don't need more strictures.
