As for protein shakes, I like Designer Whey protein in the blender with milk, ice and a banana (I add a packet of Splenda). Some protein drinks are really disgusting to me, but I find this a treat -- I use chocolate and find it tastes like a milkshake for me! I hope this helps...it takes me a long time to drink the shake. You're human, and humans are programmed to seek out food, to eat, both for health and pleasure. It goes *against* human nature to purposely restrict foods, to chose only foods that *don't* taste good. See if your library can get The Pleasure Trap by Doug Lisle, PhD. I'm halfway through it myself and it does help a lot. > > Occasionally, walking back to the car with my " booty " an errant thought would hit me, 'I'm just doing survival stuff here. Eating is one consistent joy I have. When I let myself eat whatever I want, I am indulging my desire to feel completely happy. I keep depression at bay for a brief time.' So I did have to give myself a break. It seems that at least I do reach a point where I have " had enough " . This time it involved a half gallon of ice cream. had gone out at night just for me and just to buy this one thing. It took me three days to finish it off. On the second day, I thought to myself, " really loves me. I owe it to him to at least try. " On the third day, as I finished the last bite, I knew I was ready. That night I had a nightmare and screamed to wake myself up. In the dream I was trying on lingeree and a security guard came in to dust the stalls. He opened the door to mine and leered at me while he dusted away. What is interesting is that I was at goal weight in the dream. I have not been able to dream myself thin EVER. I guess my subconcious is ready for , too. Kim

Last night I was watching the tube with and I felt like eating exchanges I didn't have left. I just remembered how for two + months I couldn't string two plan days together and drank some more water. I noticed that in grocery stores I have problems so I intentionally look away from my binge foods and sort of hold my breath when I pass through the bakery section. I know I don't want to eat that stuff, and I feel better if I don't start up obsessive mental tugs-of-war in my head. Kim
Guest guest
welcome back Kim - missed you. Life happens but the important thing is that you found your way back to plan <GBG> In the long run the pessimist may be proved right, but the optimist has a better time on the trip.- L. Reardon Re: Kim I haven't been doing anything online, groups or email, until today.I fell into some morass of uncontrolled eating, weight gain, and feelings of shame. I was constantly obsessing about food and planning binges but I started feeling too ashamed to buy any junk food at the stores. About three days ago, I was blessed with a reprieve and was able to start the foodmover again. This is my fourth day today. I know this one thing is true: it is easier to stay on than to get back on.I'm not going to try to read back for what I missed, just jump in right here.Kim> New Years 2004, Email Stationery by CloudeightHi Kim,> > I haven't seen you post lately and was wondering how you were doing. A handfull!?! How on earth did you eat just a handfull? Oh, yea, you are just a few weeks out...that answers my question...lol Fried foods shouldnt give you gas just the runs...it is what you fry or what is attached to what you fry that will give you gas. good luck. Guest guest
> Ditto - and I typically have had hardly any problems with it... I mean I get some - usually in the evenings - but its not like this - This is almost surreal ... I keep thinking - this has got to be the end of it - but no, another round - been going on for about 3 hours now.... TMI huh? I can see how this might start you losing again... spending a lot of time in the restroom... sorry to whine - I brought it on myself. > > Kim It is NOT the gas or the breading on something that gets you losing again, it is the fat that makes things move. You can get fat in without the breading. It is the gluten or white flour that you are having a gas reaction to. Does this help? Guest guest
> Laurie, > > First what the heck is FWIW???? I think Jim answered this already...for what it's worth. You know, reading your last post made me think of yet another time I felt violate. In high school, my homeroom teacher use to hit on me very subtely. I had never dated and was very very naive so I was never sure. Then one day (I went to a private Catholic school) during the " sign of peace " in a school-side church service, he pulled me towards him and kissed me right on the lips!!! I was shocked and had no idea what to do. Then for my 18th birthday he showed up at my house with a single white rose. My mom thought " oh what a nice teacher " . I hated him! Not only was he my homeroom teacher, but my THEOLOGY teacher. No wonder I'm such a screwed up mess when it comes to dating. Men have been real monsters to me. Where are all the good, healthy, Christian men that treat women like Christ treated the church? All I need is one! Isn't there ONE out there??? lol Hugs, Laurie
