Guest guest
Kim I didn't think guys would like lavender. Huh. I guess you never know, right? gathering Good morning girls- Well, it sounds like the gathering was one huge success. I'm so jealous of all of you that were able to attend. I had fun just reading all of your posts. Consider yourselves lucky that I didn't come.....you would have had to use a megaphone to talk to me!! My husband could see how depressed I was Saturday knowing that I wanted to be with you guys. So to perk me up a little he installed my new ceiling fan in my sun room and my new ceiling fan in the bedroom I'm almost done redecorating. So I guess something good came out of it. (hehe) If you girls ever want your husband to get something done for you that he's put off doing, just play the " pity act " and feel sorry for yourself about something. It works great!! I need some help with something from all you professionals out there. A neighbor of my daughter bought a goatsmilk, oatmeal & honey bar from me the other day for her teenage grandson hoping it would help his acne. Of course I told her I had no idea if it would help. But she called to tell me that even if it didn't help, he LOVED the soap and she wants (3) more bars for herself and her grandson. Question: Did I read somewhere that Tea Tree Oil is good for acne? If so, I have a 2 oz. bottle I bought at the drug store that I've never used BUT it was a couple of years ago. There's no " shelf life " date on the bottle. If it IS good for acne, how much would I need to add to say a 5 oz bar of soap and do you know whether the oil would still be OK to use after this length of time in the cupboard? Oh, and will the " medicinal smell " of the oil stay in the soap or do you think the Oatmeal, Milk & Honey F/O will cover it up? Whoever can answer these questions for me, be sure to SCREAM when you type the post so that I CAN HEAR YOU!! (hehe) Thanks M.

Guest guest
Gee, Kim. Why didn't I think of that? Duh!!!! Lotion I made Debs demo lotion last nite. I didnt get any responses on the water amount so I just went with 40 oz and it came out kinda thick. I was making it to give some to my hubbys nana and so I coulnt wait any further had to get it done. Being that it was thick, I should have put in jars but I dont have jars big enuf so I put it in a bottle. I hope she can get it out. i think she can if she can see well enuf to open the flip top lid and squeeze the right direction, poor girl... BUT the remaining in the pot I will later play with and add water. Deb I can see this growing and growing lol. Darn I forgot to put in the vit E. Anyays for those that like to work in grams I converted the recipe: Remember these are grams. 91 gm aloe vera gel (get the consumable kind, not the kind that you put on your sunburn) I found this at walmart. One Gallon for 7-8 bucks 85 gm emulsifying wax 71 gm stearic acid 57 gm cocoa butter 283 gm. sunflower oil 113 gm coconut oil 1134 gm distilled water for thick OR 2126 gm for thinner 18 gm preservative for the thick or 28 gm preservative for the thin respectively (she used germall plus) 4 capsules vitamin E Mix all oils together and melt very well. In a separate pot, mix water, preservative, and aloe until warm/hot. Pour water mixture into oils slowly and mix very well. Blend with a hand blender (stick blender) for about 10 minutes until it is cool. Seemed to take a long time to cool so I placed in in some cool water in the sink. That helped a lot. Pour into bottles and label. WEll keep or toss as you wish but this was my experience with it last nite. Take care! Guest guest
Kim There's no way for me to describe the scent but I do like it. It's very " clean " smelling - not fruity, not very spicy. I have No way to describe it. I didn't exactly order it. Wholesale Supplies Plus had a " mystery " f/o sale. Since I was ordering other items at the time, I figured I'd give it a try. The " Fig " F/O was one of the ones I got - 16 oz. for $7.50. That was a steal. Merry Christmas to you, too. need opinion OK guys. I need help. My brain is shot. I did a lotion with a scent called " Fig " . It's really great smelling. Anyway, my labels are all made for my lotions but I have been doing the background color sort of in a corresponding color to the scent, if you know what I mean. Ex: Fresh Cucumber - pale green, Tea Rose - pale pink, Vanilla Musk - pale cream, etc. Here's the question - what color would you do for Fig Scent? This is probably easy for some of you but for the life of me I can't come up with this one. Help me
Guest guest
Wow, thanks. It's amazing how many people write to me and say, " I never knew this fitness obsession thing could be so much fun! " :-) You're doing great with your challenge. I hope you took pictures. It sounds like you have poster girl potential! Sometimes posts get overlooked in the hustle and bustle of the board. When people are pressed for time they do a lot of reading and not much replying. If you ever need advice or suggestions right away, reposting your message with a giant HELP in the subject line usually gets responses. Keep us posted on your progress! - I'm Kim and I've been on BFL for 4 weeks, actually starting my 5th now. I had posted a few weeks ago but no one responded so I kinda shyed away from the list. But I did want to say first off as some have already said that you are awesome! You are totally knowledgable and your attitude is CONTAGIOUS!!! I have read your website from top to bottom and it has really helped clear up ALOT of questions about things and your transformation is AWESOME! You are my hero!!! LOL But regarding this post I think I have even more respect for you now. Reading this post, I'm like OMG! THAT WAS ME!!!! Counting calories, obsessing over the scale, starving... it was a horrible depressing way to live!!! Well anyways, I have to say I agree with every single word that you have said here. I feel like I wrote this email!!! LOL But I just felt compelled to say something, and that this plan WORKS!!! I have no idea how much fat I have lost, I need to get some calipers, but I've gone down a size in 4 weeks, and keep finding new muscles everyday. My only advise to everyone is follow the book. ESPECIALLY with the eating! After eating once a day, like a small salad to nothing at all, and wondering " Why am I not losing weight? " To eating 6 meals a day... I feel totally liberated! go for it! Eat up!!! And I have learned that eating well balanced portions keep you full and you aren't reaching for cookies and stuff, and if you do, usually a bite is enough for me... not a DOZEN!!! YAY! Well just wanted to say that... I'm done. ~kim
Guest guest
Thanks Kim, Ya, I have never met up with people from the internet. But ya, I just wanted someone to share the experiance with like you said. Someone with the same interest. But now I really don't care. I want to go, I want to be at that stage! So I am buying my tickets this morning on floor. Gonna be there 4 hours early to get up front! If i go by myself, oh well. I will still have so much fun! Guess what, this reward kind of fell in my lap! I knew I wanted to go to a Lifehouse concert when I reached my goals, but I thought it would be in the summer. This one just happened to fall right on the last week of my challenge! And it is Utah where we have a lot of family (not alot of family that would go to this concert though). Soo, it came to me! Guest guest
Hi Kim I only have one consignment shop account going at the moment. It works out really well for me, though. Actually the consignment shop started out as all clothing and kid's toys. But it's actually grown now (she got a bigger place) and she has added household items, jewelry and most any other thing that she thinks will sell. Of course she scrutinizes EVERYTHING that comes in and it has to be in real good shape. Anyways, she had come to me and asked to carry my stuff in there. She set up 3 glass shelves just for my items. I stop in about once a week and pick up any money and I give her 25% of what she sells. I do all the price tags and we both have identical lists of items I have there and mark them off as they sell so I ALWAYS have a running inventory so I know exactly what is there and what sells good. Each item is numbered and priced by me to match the itemized sheet I make up on my computer. I just add to it when I bring items to her and give her a copy. I'm the one that decides if I want to put things " on sale " etc. So far its worked out great. And she really " pushes " my stuff when people even go near the area where my products are displayed. Would I want to take on a bunch of consignment shops? NO because I do most of the work. But this one shop is doing well for me. Re: Hi , I have done a few consignment deals. One was I give them a percentage of sales. Not a very busy place, things are not taken care of or looked after. Yuck. The other place raised my prices to accomodate his increase. They didn't take care of things either. He pulled off my price tag, tore holes in the soap wrapping, affixed his price tag over the hole, picked up the baskets wrong and put finger holes in the plastic, put stuff in a box upstairs...where pottery was being thrown/sanded, all dirty. It was a big fat huge mess. I believe the spa woman is selling most of my things although some are for spa use. Just how am I to keep track of that? I am knee deep in paper work now. After researching here and there I deceided to offer this type of pricing. So far, no problems, everyone seems happy. Guest guest
Jeanine, My 3 year old DD (I think you may have seen her at the show by the river?) has apraxic speech too. You might want to look into a method called PACE - 's speech therapist may know about it - which uses a hands-on technique to show them where to put their jaw/lips/mouth. I don't know if it would work in adults, but I will certainly ask Talia's therapist on Monday if you'd like. Glad to hear you are both doing better. :^) Namaste, Kalisiak sville Emporium ~ From Head to Toe, Body and Soul > is doing well, except for the apraxia. Sleep deprived, hungry all the time, cholestrol has to be sky high from grabbing anything to eat, laundry in the washer and dryer and folded in basket waiting to be put away and more in the hamper, carpets...well covered with cat hair, basket shred, labels, soap in molds, soap out of molds, some cured ready to wrap, labels everywhere...sure wish I had a basement.I need a " Lifetime Day " , one where I stay in my jammies all day, eat bon bons, or potato chips, and watch Lifetime movies all day long, never leaving the couch...except to eat something else. Good luck to everyone that has shows...sell out of everything!!! Kim C

Guest guest
I haven't been doing anything online, groups or email, until today. I fell into some morass of uncontrolled eating, weight gain, and feelings of shame. I was constantly obsessing about food and planning binges but I started feeling too ashamed to buy any junk food at the stores. About three days ago, I was blessed with a reprieve and was able to start the foodmover again. This is my fourth day today. I know this one thing is true: it is easier to stay on than to get back on. I'm not going to try to read back for what I missed, just jump in right here. Guest guest
> I fell into some morass of uncontrolled eating, weight gain, and > feelings of shame. Nothing to be ashamed about! You're human, and humans are programmed to seek out food, to eat, both for health and pleasure. It goes *against* human nature to purposely restrict foods, to chose only foods that *don't* taste good. See if your library can get The Pleasure Trap by Doug Lisle, PhD. I'm halfway through it myself and it does help a lot. >I know > this one thing is true: it is easier to stay on than to get back on. Amen!
