Is anyone doing regular follow-ups after a myotomy. I had surgery in 2008,

went back to surgeon after about 1 1/2 for follow-up, everything was ok. Since

the surgery, have had no complications, everything is fine. Is there any

benefit to going back to Dr's for periodic check-ups as long as there are no

symptoms? What is everyone else doing?

If I where you I will still continue with periodic check-ups even without

symptoms.  With A you'll never know what will be the next " IF or WHAT next. "

This is a traitor disease just like heart attacks one day you are fine the next

day can be HELL... So always follow docs advise of periodic checks...

That's an interesting question. Many people have been advised to go for regular

check-ups.  However, after I had my successful myotomy in May 2006, the advice

that I received was that investigations to do a check carry their own risk and

if I had no symptoms, to carry on without any intervention.
