Guest guest
Hello All Well i went to Liverpool as planned yesterday for a surgical review and it went much better than i thought. No surgery yet until at least next year and this will be decided at the next surgical review appointment on April 11th next year in 6 months time. Meanwhile i am to stop taking the Pantoprazole, Zantac and 2 other medications as they work against each other so the big chief surgeon said. Instead he wants me to try for 6 months Nexium at a small dose and increase the dose accordingly until i reach the max dose. By then the reflux problems should be under control. Now then he then went on to say that should i then still have problems with reflux then and only then will they take the situation further by offering surgery but before then i would need a repeat Gastroscopy and other tests before deciding on what type of surgery. But he stressed that surgery for me would be a last ditch resort and only done when the medication fails. So there we have it. Another 6 months wait. Never mind. I will try any medication if it will help prevent me having surgey but there again i would have the surgery if they seriously sugest it though but again we'll see in 6 months time. Who knows the Nexium might work. Thanks for everyone's support. from the UK
