I totally agree with what said about the kids. They adapt and

adjust so quickly….better than we do in most cases! When I had my ectomy I

was away in Cleveland for close to 3 weeks when it was all said and done,

and they did just fine (they stayed at my sister’s house and had her four

kids to play with). Mine were little also when I had my surgery – they were

2 ½ and 4 ½ and we did the same types of things mentioned below to

get around not lifting them. Lots of snuggle time on the couch and mine were

also very curious about my boo-boos and stuff. Just explain it to them using

their terms. They will be fine – they are so resilient!!

So glad you are doing well and feeling good. Once you get home you will feel

a ton better too!

so glad to hear you're doing well. As far as your kids - dont' sweat it.

What I had to do (my girls were 2 1/2 and 5 at the time) is I would sit on

the couch and they would climb into my lap and we had all the holding and

snuggling we wanted without me having to pick them up. If one of them fell

and got hurt - I sat on the floor next to them and they crawled into my lap,

etc. etc.

Do expect them to be really curious - Jaye, my little one, was anxious every

morning to check on my 'boo-boos'. When I first got home, she had to check

out all of my bandages and everything - it was really cute.

going home tomorrow - you'll feel so much better at home, with your kids, in

your own bed. TAKE IT EASY - take advantage of the help you have while you

have it!! In no time at all, you'll be feeling back to your 'new normal'.

Safe travel!!

Woo Hoo for you!!

as far as the bandanges, if they are not bothering you - leave them be but if

they come off or bother you -don't sweat that either.

After my c-sections and my ectomy both, I wound up taking the steri-strips off

because after about a week, they started to irritate my skin - like I said, it

wasn't a big deal.

I also wouldn't get too worked up about picking up your kids - you SHOULD avoid

it right now of course, but it's something your body is used to so it's not new

strain on you or anything.

Glad it's working so well for you.

Keep resting!!
