Guest guest
Hi, all, >[ES] Since there are no >mitochondria in red blood cells it is interesting that something is >obviouly limiting the volume & ADH hormone. Could poor metabolism limit >the blood volume or hormone? Oops - there are mitochondria in RBCs (its the nucleus that disappears), but since RBCs are end-stage anyway, mitochondrial problems that occur there will affect just that cell and not be passed to more generations of cells. ADH (vasopressin) is another pituitary hormone, so lack of it is another example of HPA-axis dysfunction. Since vasopressin and oxytocin are somewhat opposite, and balance each other in several actions, it sounds like you should stay away from oxytocin injections. The easiest thing to do to increase blood volume is drink plenty of fluids and replace electrolytes. Gookinaid has been mentioned, but any sports drink (All-Sport, Gatorade, etc.) should work as well. ***** >[steve:>] I sounds like what you talking about is different from over >breathing -- also it >sounds like a condition that is not generally shared, & research will not >find >relationship among highly ideopathicvariables. >>[Patti:] I find this one very hard to believe, at least in my case. I >>CONSTANTLY have to remind myself to breathe. I will go relatively long >>periods of time without breathing. I also have noticed myself not breathing for prolonged periods. But I think the original " hysterical breathing " hypothesis covered both under & over-breathing - both result in blood pH changes & lowered blood oxygenation. **** >[Theresa]. Can anyone explain why diflucan might do this? I am >contemplating the >same thing for yeast problems and don't want to get WORSE! How would I know >if it was OK for me or not? Any MDs or PhDs have comments? Diflucan, and any antifungal, are drugs with nasty side effects anyway - that's why they are used so seldom. Diflucan blood levels are greatly affected by renal function, in turn affected by blood volume. Also diflucan can affect liver function, already compromised in CFS. Plus the list of drugs it interacts with is most of a PDR page. Also, in looking thru the PDR I discovered that diflucan does not affect all species of yeast or other fungus - its possible that you had a nonsusceptible infection, or coinfection.
