I didn't pull them up. But if you do a search with Hyman & Nicolson...... Hyman will send you up to LongIsland where I was dxd once again with CFS by DrL.Krupp, (MS/CFS/PostLyme/ she is now into GWI but still with on CFS. Is the gov't using Hymans protocol or is he using theirs which was modeled after Nicolson but not with any of his other reccomendations....... Or did Hyman & Nicolson pool their knowledge in reccomendations? Once again I sure hope these millions of $s and our Vets will recieve help. You asked if anyone was serious about abx's why wouldn't they use Hyman? I don't think it is open to CFS civilians....... Thanks
Guest guest
Steve wrote:::::> > http://gulfwarvets.com/treat.htm Huge page but as far as I can tell Hyman would like You to vist StonyBrook twice, begining and later. This is the place where I had the pych testing back fire and what a horrible way to treat ill patients. Krupp was not part of that mess, she is very bright and knows just asking several questions and simple phsical exam. Do you know what Drs are to see these patients after the long haul from the Big easy ? Did you find the Hyman protocol or was it the gov't one with Donta & Nicolson one? Guest guest
I do not think the study is open to civilians but a person could still be treated my hyman if he was willing to take them. I guess you would just need to go to New Orleans to get treated. Since you would not be in the study you would not need to go to stony brook. I think the main thing that Hyman has to offer is his use of IV abxs. I am not sure if any other Drs in the US would use this procedure. Guest guest
>>> Nicholson is not an MD with clinical experience whereas Hyman is.<<< this is true but so many have been cured or are in recovery with Nicolsons considerations with abx's,lab tests, enviormental triggers, alternitive help & supplements. As for me I wouldn't have gotten this far if it weren't for testing and his considerations for my Dr. to evaluate. Krupp was OK in dxing, she was the one that gave me 6 weeks of doxy or i wouldn't have known how I would react, I stared at that bottle for two days before I even took one pill. then over the yrs. all added up to mycos ,now even Nicolson is into a virus in cfs. By the 14th year, I was down for the count, continous relapsing, Krupp did the Envelope theory & Cheneys Boundaries. Lydia, What bacteria was seen in your blood by Hyman. what is Stonybrook seeing you recover from. Thank you,

According to records I had large numbers of tiny encapsulated cocci (TEC) as well as large numbers of exploded cocci. There were rare gram-positive cocci and diplococci. My discharge diagnosis after 3 weeks of IV Doxy at 2 grams a day (continuance drip) is as follows:2/23/98 1. DESERT STORM SYNDROME 2. INDOLENT BACTEREMIA WITH INDOLENT BACTERIURIA 3. SYSTEMIC COCCAL DISEASE 4. RECURRENT FEVER 5. CHRONIC FATIGUE SYNDROME, ARTHRALGIA, MYALGIA, MUSCLE CRAMPS, NON-EXUDATIVE PHARYNGITIS, PERIODIC BRONCHIAL ASTHMA, HEMOPTYSIS, MEMORY LOSS. I was sent home to continue the Doxy at 1.5 grams a day taken in the form of 10 150 mg caps with dinner meal. Sent stomach into a tizzy and have been on Prilosec ever since and I have just started to really relapse in the last few months and he, DR. Hyman, has asked me to come back for a repeat of the same treatment for my current manifestations. I have also been diagnosed with Lupus since the treatment. It has been 2 years and the first year I was almost symptom free. I still do not understand all of this alphabet soup and sometimes in hard to tell which is bothering me or just overlapping. GWS/CFS/FMS/Lupus/Asthma. Hope this helps a little. Lydia

Guest guest
I only wish there was such a cure. I am more than happy to return to DR. Hyman and feel privilagesd that he asked me to return for a repeat treatment. I have had great results from the last and if I have to go every 14-18 months so be it!
