Guest guest
Hey all: I started Ebony on the two new enzymes on Friday. I am giving her three a day each one so far. I put them in her cup. So far, I have noticed that she doesn't drink the juice as well with the enzymes in. Do they taste bad? I can't put them in the food because she doesn't eat any soft foods and she is a definite grazer. One question is this...how long should I wait to see a benefit or reaction to the enzymes? Also, maybe she needs more enzymes? Maybe she doesn't have enough of the enzymes in her system when she eats. Right now, it is kind of hit and miss. If I put them in her cup and she doesn't drink it right when she's eating, is it going to help..for instance, if she eats a breakfast bar and an hour later finishes her cup, is that too late for it to work? What is the time after eating a food that you should have the enzyme? Hoping to see some results soon.... Guest guest
Tamara, You might want to post your questions again late Mon. or Tue. when Devin is back. Meanwhile, I will share what I know. My son rejected taking the enzymes in several foods. He is older and would rather take them seperately in a little juice rather than " contaminate " his food. For Ebony, you could try something with a strong taste such as, peanut butter (would she reject that being a " soft " food?) or a little frozen juice concentrate in a spoon. Maybe squishing the enzymes into a piece of chewy brownie would work. Do you have a copy of Devin's dosing sheet? It would be helpful for your questions here. Also, I have copied and pasted below a response Devin gave to another poster about the timing of the enzymes. Let me know if you need anything clarified. From: " Devin Houston " <houstonni@...> Date: Fri May 25, 2001 1:05 pm Subject: Re: Challenge on the diet with enzymes tonight........ The enzyme activity will last for 2 - 3 hours at least. If dinner is extended, simply give another enzyme later on in the meal. > Hey all: > > I started Ebony on the two new enzymes on Friday. I am giving her three a > day each one so far. Guest guest
Shari I get weird rashes when I am killing off candida. Especially when I use the d'olenate skin cream. It is supposed to penetrate to the third layer. IT makes me herx and also brings out some itchy little lesions. It also makes my skin symptoms worse. I have found this with oral yeast killers too. Guest guest
Hi! I take paxil, and it seems to help alot with the depression that comes from having ra. It does make you sleepy, so I take mine at bed time. Your rheumy should be able to prescribe what is right for you as not all things work the same for each person. Hugs from Ok.....Gloria > > Hey everybody! > > I hope all is well with you guys and pray that everyone is pain- free right now! > > I was curious though. Does anyone with RA experience frequent colds and sickness? I know that our immune system is not exactly up to par right now, however, I continue to get sick and when I do it takes FOREVER for me to get rid of them! I was wondering if I was the only one experiencing this. > > Also, I was thinking about taking some anti-depression meds. I have been taking this pain and the whole situation really hard right now. I currently do not work and I haven't been taking my meds for over two weeks and I feel more pain gradually getting worse everyday. Get this.....I applied for a job at a hospital where I live, and my rheummy said I was unable to perform the duties expected of me so he faxed paperwork to the job and I didn't get the position!!! I have been looking for work since then. I think he wants me to be on SSI but I am only 25! I can still work and do normal things (with meds)! Anyhoo, ever since that incident I have been extremely depressed. If anybody else is taking something and recommends it, I will definitely try it out! Currently, I only take Methotrexate (8 a week). > > Last question.....FOR LADIES ONLY!! > > Does anybody experience yeast infections with Prednisone?! I REFUSE to take that stuff again! Guest guest
Yes I get a lot of sinus infections and colds. Not so much since I stopped Humira. I also take an antidepressant. Guest guest
As long as i am not on meds I NEVER get sick. If I am on meds tend to catch everything that goes by!! If I get one thing it will lead to a string of viruses and such...like a domino effect. I try to take as little to no medication as possible. Especially during the cold and flu season. As far as yeast infections go. I get them all over my skin. They are very annoying. I generally stay off prednisone but I was on two bursts of pred about two months ago and now I am paying. I would ask your doc for a prescription of the pills that treat yeast infections and then you can take them the same time or shortly after you finish the pred burst. I will guess your blood sugars are running high when on pred. Guest guest
Deneen, I've been diagnosed with RA about 8 years ago. Started in my hands. Now I have severe swelling in both hands down into the fingers and fingers are starting to curl. I am almost always tired and in some sort of pain. I can not do anything constructive-I have no fine finger dexterity or strength. To put icing on the cake-I had back surgery in late 2005, a reflair in June 2006, and finally 2nd back surgery May 2007. Now I'm looking forward to neck fusion in 2008. Depression??? I have been on Wellbutrin and Paxil. I'm in the process of going to Cymbalter. My personal suggestion: If you feel bad mentally i.e.down, always sad,etc or if your relationships are becoming harder-go for it girl. Anti depression meds are not a crutch in our situation-it's a necessity. Good Luck and feel better.
