Prof. Nicolson mycoplasma treatment cites them:

" Other Therapies for Chronic Infections

One therapy that appears to be useful is oxidative therapy. This can be

done at home with peroxide baths(2-4X 16 oz. bottles of 3% hydrogen

peroxide in 20 inch bath (or Jacuzzi) with 2 cups of Epsom salt. " from

http://www.cfs.inform.dk/Behandling/Nicolson.radio.txt

and http://www.immunesupport.com/articles/cfs-fms/cf001.htm etc.

The mechanism is that the rickettsia and mycoplasma require low oxygen levels to

survive, you raise the oxygen level and they die off (or go dormant <= :-( )

.... hence, Hale's Breathing, Whey (blood pH change) etc. are alternative

theraphies... see http://www.folkarts.com/idef/cheney_o2.htm and links from

that page for more information...

As a PS.... both of us do much better the next day after spending 30 minutes in

our hot tub (with ozonator, not chlorine) in the evening... same logic probably

applies....

Phil, Steve asked " do the baths provide any benefit --if so what? "

Can I add to that - why do them - anyone?

Detoxing can occur which relieves the liver and the body from the effects of

detoxing through the bloodstream. There are many other types of detoxing

baths - here are a couple from memory from Konlees site and a book I have

about Chronic Fatigue/Fibromyalgia by Alternative Medicine. I will try to

get specifics if requested from this book. Let me know

Baking soda/salt:

Start with 1/2 cup of each in a hot bath. Stay in until water is cool then

take a shower.

Chlorine Bleach

Can't remember the amt.

I think this is all I can remember. I do remember if there is a red ring

around the tub, it is mercury.

A little fogged,

Marty Z.

[Patti: ] My favorite is a ginger bath. This one can stop a cold dead in

its tracks. Good for when you feel really yucky too. This can be very

powerful so be careful and start with small amounts before working up to

larger amounts. I personally use one whole cup of dried ginger powder to a

tub of hot water. Beginners should probably start with 1/4 cup or less to

see if they can handle it. I stay in as long as I can stand it - water

cools down but I get warmer and warmer. I immediately wrap up in a large

terry robe and hop into bed (impossible to do ANYTHING but sleep)

afterwards. You will still feel very warm and rag-doll relaxed even after

an hour. If you put too much in the water can be very uncomfortable. Opens

up pores so toxins can leave. I've heard that fresh ginger is more

powerful, but this has not been my experience.

Warning: This is for females only! I forgot about this caveat once and the

person asked if I was trying to kill him.

Awe, I thought you were just trying to create an appreciation in males of what a

yeast infection felt like...

HI,

These hot baths are used in lyme pts for same reasons - probably same with

peroxide, etc.

Weg, M.D., in Ridgewood, NJ, uses the baths (tel. #: 201-447-5558) and

told Dr. Nicolson about it (he likes the treatment). The use of a certain brand

of tanning lotion is supposed to

promote the skin's utilization of the hydrogen peroxide, but you don't have to

use it. His office might give you his protocol. He also uses IV.
