Guest guest
In addition to Manolaurin, Professor Al Cocchetto has suggested a few other supplements in our latest edition of our newsletter, The National Forum. It is just beginning to arrive at subscriber's homes. One important one to use along with Manolaurin is Acetyl L-Carnitine. It has worked to clear up CFS lesions in him and others have reported benefits as well. Gail
Guest guest
: " fatty acid 'monolaurin'? It attacks the lipid coat of such viruses and is available over the counter from the Vitamin Shoppe. It is made by Cardiovascular Research. " , do you have a specific reference for this? Mark Konlee(about a year or more ago?.) talked about PWA's viral titers substantially decreasing after/during ingestion of coconut oil. Monolaurin, I believe, comes from coconut oil Hmmm...let's seriously think about this possibility folks. Hope (BTW--I LOVE this list. Have gleaned more info in my 3 months on this list than in the last 6 years of researching on my own or from other lists. Many thanks to all. Keep posting!!!) Guest guest
I used Monolaurin in the early 90's for CFS, it did nothing for CFS. But, no, none of these homeopathic drugs are strong enough to do that that anybody has discovered yet. They only help with skin surface lesions. I get my ALC from the Life Extension Foundation, lef.org, because last time I checked they had the lowest price of the brands that I trust. Immunesupport.com might be cheaper by now. A knowledgeable friend told me that ALC can cause vomiting and in some susceptible people, seizures, but I was never able to track down a source on that. I did find a bunch of stuff in Medline that suggested ALC had a lot of positive benefits.
