Guest guest
I thought I was starting to look a bit gaunt so I jumped on the scale this morning and noticed I am down 10 lbs.6'3 " 175 lbs now.A walking skeleton.I was only about 185 when I went for the myotomy though. My stomach is constantly gurgling and making noises.Hope that's normal afterwards.I have no appetite whatsoever. I am still forcing myself to eat but some days I just can't put much down and I'm supposed to go back to work next friday.Hope I gain some back bwefore then because I don't have much energy at this weight. Guest guest
, From a lot of the comments I have read on this site, its seems normal to not have an appetite after the surgery. I think that will come back in time. However, how is your swallowing? Are you still limited to soft foods and liquids? If so, I would try to pack as many calories in as I could. Get your protein drinks and antioxidant smoothies going. Add in milk or ice cream for more calories. Also, coconut oil is extremely healthy and can be used in place of butter. Its a medium chain fatty acid so it does not contribute to higher cholesterol. I used this with my kids (who do not eat enough). It adds extra calories, mild tasting and is very healthy for you. I would add it on everything. It comes as a solid at room temp but is easily melted into a liquid. I would get unrefined extra virgin coconut oil, sold at most health food stores or Whole Foods/Trader Joes. I am very well versed in adding calories to diets for little kids and since you are eating simple foods right now, I can probably help you out. Let me know if you would like more suggestions.
