Can your E stretch out if you need a little water

to get some foods down? I had my Heller in 2005 and usually need

some water.

Hi everyone....

A few new people since I last posted....I just wanted to say HI & welcome!! I am

reading each & every message posted, lots of good info! For those who are new or

who may not remember, I do not have achalasia but my husband has had it for

about 20 years. He was finally diagnosed in 2008 & the dr did a Heller. Wish I'd

known about this site then....I have no idea how experienced his dr was. He did

go back for a check up about 6 months after his surgery, the dr then ordered an

endoscopy because he saw something.....but my husband never followed up with

him. I assume it was nothing since the dr didn't urgently call. He then had an

episode back in February-ish where he once again couldn't get anything down. It

lasted about 3 weeks.....again, he didn't call the dr & he eventually was able

to eat again. Now it seems he hasn't had any problems....he's even been eating

meals without his ginormous glass of water. I did warn him about the E

stretching but he

doesn't seem concerned about it. I've always been the worrier....but I just

started a full time job & with 2 kids....well he's on his own, lol!!!

Just wanted you all to know I'm still here....still reading.....I learn

something new every day :)
