The Food and Drug Administration said Tuesday May 25 2010 several studies have

shown increased risk of hip, wrist and spine fractures in patients using drugs

that block stomach acid. The agency said a half-dozen studies tracked fractures

in patients older than 50 when the drugs were used between one and 12 years.

The drugs are known as proton pump inhibitors and include both prescription

drugs like AstraZeneca's Nexium and Takeda's Prevacid as well as

over-the-counter medicines like Prilosec OTC, which is made by Procter & Gamble.

I know many people use these every day. I have reported this many

times.

This is a NEW report May 25 2010. I stopped Nexium about 3 years ago and

immediatley felt better. Made my stomach alkaline so had to take other digestive

pills.

If you are over 50 take care, dont fall!
