Guest guest
Dear , Â As Notan says, you can't tell. You need a barium swallow test to show whether food is stopping at the LES or not. Â I realise how hard it is for you. I feel your frustration. But it has to be HIS choice whether to act or not. Fear is such an enemy to our well-being. I have a similar frustration with my husband who smokes. All the time that we have been together I have advised and pleaded with him to cut down or stop, but it has been to no avail. I have had to accept that it is HIS body and his life that he is risking. Your situation is not so different. We can only change ourselves. Â With love from Ann. As a side note......how does one know when their E is not emptying?? Is it just something you know?? I'm asking because my husband is still tooling along....he seems to be eating ok, although he did throw up the other night about 2 hours after dinner....but after all the posts I've read here about people swallowing ok & thinking everything is ok, but they can tell there is still food in their E. I was just wondering if there is a way to tell if this is the case with my husband>
