Guest guest
what great news! It'a a world of difference when you go to someone who knows what they're doing. I wouldn't worry too much about the results changing his mind. I sent my barium swallow films to him, never saw him in person and from just my films he had no question I'd need an ectomy. Refresh my memory here - have you had a Heller in the past? Part of his decision for me, and I heard this from Dr. L also was that I'd already had a heller and had a nissen fundo (instead of dor or toupet) which they both felt contributed to my need for an ectomy. This is so awesome though!! I would NOT take too much time in getting it done as you already know you have some dilation in you E. Also - the heller is done lap and should only be an overnight stay. You should be back on your feet pretty quickly afterwards. The important thing for all of us is to monitor our E's with barium swallows and scopes every year or couple of years or so. Keep us posted when you find out more and take a deep breath. Sounds like it's going to be far easier than you thought. ~ in NC
