for what it's worth, I had an open heller in 1989 with a doctor who had only

done one before and minus 2-3 dilations in the first 5 years - my swallowing had

not gotten terrible, just a little slow - I could eat 90% of what I wanted 90%

of the time - when you figure that we're never going to be 'normal' I considered

that a great success!!

, Thanks for responding.  I know that you have been through a lot. 

When

I came to this site a few years ago, I believe you were really having issues,

how are you now? 

Your right, we will NEVER swallow normally, at this time, I can't remember what

that felt like.  I want some relief, if that is possible.  Until I can meet

with

a doctor that KNOWS achalasia, it is pointless to discuss it with them here in

my town.  I will keep you posted, and please let me know how you are doing!
