Guest guest
I had the surgery yesterday and I'm out and about today. Dr. Rice and the system at the Cleveland Clinic are impressive. I just had to ignore his arogant, egotistical personality and demeaning teaching style. His video presentation was fascinating showing evidence that it is an autoimmune disease. The T cells attack the nerve cells in the esophagus until they are gone. So far the pain is bearable, just minor discomfort and I plan on skipping the percocet. Liquid diet for a few weeks seems to be the next challenge. Not lifting over 5 lbs will also be difficult, but doable. I have a 10 day canoe trip planned for Sept 1 that I may cancel. Thanks to everyone for the information and support. Santa Fe, NM
