Guest guest
I'm seeing Dr. Richter in a couple weeks to get a second opinion. He seems to be very specialized in Achalasia. I saw Dr. Cohen a couple weeks ago and he wanted to give me botox and said he doesn't do dialations anymore cause of the risks involved. I'm going to have a list of questions ready for Dr. Richter when I see him. He's having me do a barium swallow too since I haven't had one yet. > > I am new to this group.... > > I had my surgery for Achalsia in april of 2001. My doctor was Dr. Ritcher when he was at the Cleveland Clinic...Wonderful doctor!!!!! Dr. Rice was my surgeon. Back when I had my surgery done they did follow up with the tie to prevent acid reflux, so i still deal with that but it is under control thru Nexium at 40 mg. > > > > >
Guest guest
I'm not on this list enough these days, but that tells you how well i'm doing post-HM. Been 3 years now and my A is completely manageable. I get reflux at night if I eat the wrong stuff but other than that I'm completely functional. Thanks Notan for posting the article by Dr. Richter. I have him and his former surgeon Dr. Dempsey to thank for the success of my HM. I saw them when Richter was still at Temple in Philly. I highly recommend him to anyone in Florida who can get to USF and see him (that is if he still sees patients these days).
