Guest guest
Hello, Fellow Achalasians, Getting to the point right away: Hellers in 2006, and I am REALLY exhausted with having air bubbles, big ones, and whatever, that stick in my esophagus and I have to force out either by compressing my chest muscles or by pushing with my fists on my muscles just below my sternum. VERY ANNOYING and uncomfortable. Guess I've got some kind of " pocket " in my E. ANYBODY ELSE GOT THIS PROBLEM? I mean, food comes up, air comes out, minor chest pain. Bleh, and there it is. Food, liquid, air. After meals. Yuck. Guess it's better than not being able to swallow. Gurd. Still fighting it a lot. Omeprazole daily. Last upper G.I. showed no benign tumors to remove, like that last time. But I did have a stage one colon lesion removed with the lower G.I. I guess gut and throat problems will follow me all the days of me life. Am feeling down. Tired out by all of this. Nobody in my family understands the spasms (NCCPs) and how wearing-out the swallowing stuff is. It wears me out, too. I'll get over it over for bit. But it does get to me. Thanks for listening. Deborah, still at the beach, but getting ready to sell and move.... P.S. My health insurance went up again. Now it's almost $30,000 a year on a group plan. And I've been pretty much laid off for three years. No more savings.
Guest guest
Hi Deborah I`m sorry that you have so difficult swallowing.. I also have food sticking and having to push the food down with my muscles and a lots of water. First I thougt it was a big " pocket " , but it`s chronic spasms in my E. I had both manometry and X-ray showing this. I have often chest pain, usually en the evening or/and during the night. Several times each week. Very strong pain, and I`m on sick leave because of this. Maybe you have the same diagnose..? I also have Achalasia, and had the hellers in -98. Two years ago my problems startet, and still increase... Hopefully you have a " pocket " , because I think it`s more easy to treat. Guest guest
Hi Deborah... I just joined this group yesterday & have already found everyone so helpful!! My husband has achalasia & I don't know how to help him. My heart goes out to everyone who has this disease.....I've had one heartburn experience & I thought I was dying of a heart attack!! I can't imagine having constant reflux & swallowing issues!! My 11 year old son takes Prilosec every day, it makes me sad that already at his age he is having issues. Even though I don't know what it feels like to have it, I do live with someone who has it so I can sympathize!! And health ins....don't even get me started!! > > Hello, Fellow Achalasians, > > Getting to the point right away: Hellers in 2006, and I am REALLY exhausted > with having air bubbles, big ones, and whatever, that stick in my esophagus and I > have to force out either by compressing my chest muscles or by pushing with my > fists on my muscles just below my sternum.
