Guest guest
I don't think there's a normal but there's certainly similar. My husband cannot swallow some foods or drinks with or without water. In fact sometimes the water just forces it all back up again. But on that everyone is different. He used to get horrendous chest pain esp at night. He takes lansoprazole to help control the acid, but definitely buying an electric bed helped him - sleeping upright to help prevent reflux. He was also prescribed smooth muscle relaxants like Nifedipine, glycerol trinitrate (GTN) and viagra. None of them worked for the pain.
