One of the things they should have been able to tell from your incomplete

manometry was whether or not you still have peristalsis in your esophagus.

I have a tight LES that frequently closes altogether while I'm eating, but

my manometry showed that I still have peristalsis. This means that my

swallowing problems have not progressed...if I pause for a while, the

peristalsis will eventually open the LES and the food goes down.

If your manometry test shows no peristalsis, I think it's a pretty good

indication that you have full-blown achalasia.
