Guest guest
Thanks for the great words of encouragement. You are right. I do know all that, but I guess it still leaves me shaking my head in wonderment. Makes me cringe too to think at some point I might have been as stupid with someone. We'll be fine this weekend, I'm sure. I think I feel a bit creeped out about it all, and I do have a hyper imagination sometimes. Pre-Worry! Becca --- " Vicky P. Guest guest
I think part of my trouble with yesterday's phone call was just that ever since February things have seemed the same, but not the same, and either I am so changed by my experience that I don't have too much patience anymore with what I see as shallowness, or I have turned into an arch-bitch who still doesn't have any patience period, which is probably the case. --- " Vicky P. Guest guest
Now now, there, lets not get all down, Becca it is perfectly okay for you to lose patience... You need people to understand and listen deep down, it's a huge load you are carrying so don't allow all this to bring you down people who care will and do understand, do not apologize to anyone of your feelings. You have patience to deal with all that has been dealt to you, so keep on going strong and do not feel shame for your emotions, you will be okay, the ones who care will understand, and you will grow stronger through support of all in this group and your loving husband and yourself foremost.... Guest guest
Well I'll try to be brief lol. was dx at Prof Newsons clinic in Nottingham, they said he was profoundly autistic with severe learning difficulities over and above his autism. The report they sent out began stating 's parents would need counselling to come to terms with how severely disabled he was! After giving up GF I took a long break as I was to be honest gutted he hadn't improved. Since then we have seen small gains with some biomed. Then I started reading the mercury and enzymes lists and posting the occasional question, with more direction started to make more gains most notably with his gut issues and self injury. After blood and urine tests to pinpoint s major deficiencies we have really leapt forward. Stimming is virtually non existant, cross eyes have completely gone, no self inuury at all, he now actually feels pain! language comprehension gains are huge he understands almost everything said [some voices more than others, lol] appropriate play with toys, imaginative play, no more strange face pulling, teeth have appeared for the first time aged 8yrs, gains in height, looks healthy for the first time since anitbiotics, happy most of the time, far better BM's around 80% of the time[he used to pass gloop 6-7 times a day] no smearing, uses the toilet for wee, big efforts to communicate lots of gobbldeygoop babbling, sense of humour, does not like his own company wants to interact ALL the time, and we have naughty, not autistic misunderstanding but real little boy naughty who will run away laughing at his efforts! Always responds to his name unless hiding in shame lol, sits and eats at the table, will accept the word "No" All this would never have been possible without you people here sharing your experiences, I am confident there is much more to come but even if he plateud right now where he is, I have a happy healthy boy, who is such a joy to watch. 's supps are: Selenium, Taurine, Multi Flora, Colostrum, Enzymes [lots] Magnesium, Epsom Salt Baths, Krill and MB12. Thanks Mandi for the permission to be a boastful mum lol. Vicky P.S. He dresses himself and keeps his clothes on all the time, the naked head banging, is over!

Guest guest
Wow! You must be thrilled - I am thrilled just reading about it. Tom was also diagnosed at the NOttingham diagnostic centre - which I think is a good centre. But it sounds as if your is just miles ahead of the boy he was, how utterly brilliant. One of the staff from the school affiliated to the Nottingham diagnostic centre (where Tom goes to school and who is wonderful, working closely with Tom) was at the biomedical conference in Edinburgh. And has taken Dr McCandless's book into school as a refernce for staff. Education has to be particularly cautious but I'm really impressed that she came and that she is so taken with the improvements in Tom that she wants to know more. now - the paeds.... > > Well I'll try to be brief lol. > was dx at Prof Newsons clinic in Nottingham, they said he was > profoundly autistic with severe learning difficulities over and above his autism. > The report they sent out began stating 's parents would need counselling > to come to terms with how severely disabled he was! > After giving up GF I took a long break as I was to be honest gutted he > hadn't improved. > Since then we have seen small gains with some biomed. > Then I started reading the mercury and enzymes lists and posting the > occasional question, with more direction started to make more gains most > notably with his gut issues and self injury. > After blood and urine tests to pinpoint s major deficiencies we have > really leapt forward. > Stimming is virtually non existant, cross eyes have completely gone, no > self inuury at all, he now actually feels pain! language comprehension gains are > huge he understands almost everything said [some voices more than others, > lol] appropriate play with toys, imaginative play, no more strange face pulling, > teeth have appeared for the first time aged 8yrs, gains in height, looks > healthy for the first time since anitbiotics, happy most of the time, far better > BM's around 80% of the time[he used to pass gloop 6-7 times a day] no > smearing, uses the toilet for wee, big efforts to communicate lots of gobbldeygoop > babbling, sense of humour, does not like his own company wants to interact > ALL the time, and we have naughty, not autistic misunderstanding but real > little boy naughty who will run away laughing at his efforts! > Always responds to his name unless hiding in shame lol, sits and eats at > the table, will accept the word " No " > All this would never have been possible without you people here sharing your > experiences, I am confident there is much more to come but even if he > plateud right now where he is, I have a happy healthy boy, who is such a joy to > watch. > 's supps are: Selenium, Taurine, Multi Flora, Colostrum, Enzymes [lots] > Magnesium, Epsom Salt Baths, Krill and MB12. > Thanks Mandi for the permission to be a boastful mum lol. > Vicky > P.S. Guest guest
Hi Vicky The Selenium was brilliant, but if it's a toss up between arthritic arms or migraine I'll take the arms, pity really because I felt all round good taking it, and could swear my lines looked less noticeable too. >>Now what you want for the lines is Evening Primrose Oil - the stuff from Holland and Barrett is cheap and works just GREAT. Prick a capsule and spread it all over face and neck before bed - wake up - wronkles nearly gone - do for a few more nights and voila! I realise I'm not on my own ignoring my own health and really it's a very silly thing to do because the kids need us so much, my husband wouldn't know the first thing about all the stuff I give , which makes me wonder, do any of the rest of you get your husband involved and knowledgeable about the supp and diet regime your doing? >> understands the basics - enzymes with every drink, why a chelation dose has to be given on time and how to give night doses but he needs detailed lists, times and all the pots in the right order if I am away. Usually means Sam gets less supp wise if I'm gone. I would hope that if anything sudden happened to me, wold be on here asking you lot what to do! Guest guest
no matter what you decide - to really preserve the health of you E - plan on regular follow ups - that way you can be aware of any changes - however small and then choose follow up treatments as necessary. Unfortunately for us, sometimes your E can become grossly dilated without any change in symptoms so monitor every 2-3 years or so with a barium swallow and scope. Something we all should be doing...
