Guest guest
Thanks Vicki, We do limit the amount of milk she drinks already, but I will also include more dairy products to limit. Anything to avoid the pain! Thanks again, ________________________________ From: <vickilynne1@...> achalasia Sent: Mon, April 5, 2010 7:22:15 AM Subject: Re: thanks for replys  , You may want to do something as simple as experimenting with her diet. Try eliminating dairy products. Dairy can cause inflammation, bloating and gas. Sounds silly, I know, but it may help. Another dietary factor could be gluten. My son has celiac disease w/his Achalasia. Just a thought...it' s worth a try. So sorry to hear this. It's horrible watching your child in that pain, I know. I just read the statement online and thought it could make sense with Tia because maybe there is scar tissue?? I guess I'm just a worried mom trying to grasp at anything that makes sense. > > The rest of the weekend did not go good for Tia. She had spasms all weekend and still had minor abdominal pain. She didn't get to play in her fast pitch game on Saturday. It is really hard to see your child in pain and miss out on things because of stupid disease. > > My heart (and your similar stories) tell me that this gas issue for Tia is not a separate issue. It is a symptom of Achalasia. On the 15th we will see what her doctors have to say. I will follow up on the information that Notan gave me about wraps and take that information with me. > > I still will take any information that may help me for her 15th visit... thanks to all of you. People often take more fiber if they think they are having GI problems but if the problem is gas related fiber may make it worse. Also if you cut out enough dairy and gluten foods it is possible that you make up for it by eating more foods higher in fiber. notan
