Tonia, with my situation, my E doesn't like to relax, so food is difficult to

" push " down the E.  At times I feel that it completely stops and an extra sip

of liquid just brings it all back up, so I get to start my meal over again!!!

I'm not sure if it will help the spasm, but why not!! Anything that helps it to

relax will possibly help spasms.  I only get BAD spasms if I don't have food

for several hours, or if I bend over for too long..  Taking a bit of food, like

anything I can get my hands on (time is of the essence) and the spasm will stop,

if I don't get it soon, then look out!!!!  Bad pain!

Hey Julee- Does it help with spasms or just swallowing?

the past 21 years..  I have learned to eat slowly and use lots of Coke to help

my E just seems to close off and everything comes back up, these incidents are

not daily, but come in cycles.  I just wanted to share, that I have been using

these Trace mineral drops, basically for health and as vitamins.  But for some

reason they seem to help me swallow a bit better.  I have been testing this out

and for me, their is a mild relief.  Perhaps because of magnesium???  I heard

that it can help relax smooth muscle tissue.  I absolutely hate the nitrate

pills, they give me horrible headaches so I only use them RARELY as possible..

it is rather expensive, but lasts a long time, the average daily dosage is about

20 drops in juice or water.  Just thought I would mention this, because I deal

with this everyday of my life.  God bless you all.....Julee

Matt, have you gotten around to finding out if you actually have

achalasia or something else. Your message last May indicated that you

had just started taking b100 then and that it seemed to be working. So,

I take it that the few months you speak of below is seven or more, and

that after about 2 to 3 months on the b100 you started having the

problem of the food coming back up which you say you didn't before that

time. It seems to me that you have more issues than the pain and the

b100 is not helping all of it. It may be possible that if you do in fact

have achalasia that you also have another problem that is causing the

pain. Perhaps the b100 is helping the pain while the achalasia is

progressing. Then again, you could have something other than achalasia

causing the swallowing problems and still another problem causing the

pain. You are making assumptions that perhaps you should have verified

by someone qualified to do so.

Eva, I use a brand called Concen Trace.  They are low sodium.  I just noticed

that daily dosage is 40 drops ( I only use about 15), I also use a whole food

supplement with additional Vitamins called " Alive " , I crush it into powder and

add it to my juice, along with liquid flax oil.  I cannot take big pills,

having no motility makes it too hard to swallow.  For juice I like mango

because it is low acidic and is easier to get down.

Julee, Trace mineral drops are good for you and if they help, I think it is a

good idea. Don't know what kind you use but the Cell Food is excellent and is

what my doctor recommended when I was deficient in minerals. The drops are a

good form because they get into our system better. I think I'll go back on them.
