Guest guest
Hi all.....I wrote and explained that after the New GI dr. did the " Bravo ph test " he said he's NEVER seen the esophagus pull/tug on the scope the way my Mom's did! She returned the box 2 days' later, and the Dr didn't call for nearly week. He told her that the only thing left (since she's been on EVERY med, had EVERYTHING else) is the H. Myotomy. FINALLY THANK GOD!! SOMEONE WHO BELIEVES HER, AND A DR THAT WANTS TO HELP! However, I KNOW that ya'll are experienced so I'm wondering what to do. the Dr is saying he needs time to talk to some other specialists, I mentioned Dr. Rice but not sure he remembers. What if he calls with a referral to a dr that isn't as experienced as we'd like? What IS experienced as far as this is concerned? How many surgeries is a good number? PLEASE PLEASE GUIDE ME WITH THIS!! I AM TERRIFIED, I WANT ONLY THE BEST FOR HER, SHE " S BEEN DOWN A LONGGGGG HARDDDDDDDD ROAD!! AS U ALL KNOW WeLL!!! THANKS SO MUCH!! Guest guest
Maddie, I'm so glad to hear that your mom has finally been diagnosed and is being taken seriously!! Generally, it's considered a good sign if the surgeon has done at least 50 of that particular surgery. They say with a surgery that takes as much skill as a Heller myotomy, it takes that many to get proficient at them. When you talk to the surgeon, don't let them tell you they've done " a lot " . Ask for the specific number. Good luck! in Michigan > > Hi all.....I wrote and explained that after the New GI dr. did the " Bravo ph test " he said he's NEVER seen the esophagus pull/tug on the scope the way my Mom's did!
