Guest guest
Hi, Jen K., I don't have an answer for you regarding surgery, but I have observed our son's fevers are MORE frequent since we've been on Singulair. He is just now getting his THIRD round of fever since we started Singulair only 3 1/2 weeks ago. His last fever began only 10 days ago, and before that it was 11 days. Is this just coincidence? We had been using Prednisone with episodes since June, but for this fever round, I am using just Tylenol/Motrin so I can see how high the fever goes on its own. It is very hard not to give Prednisone, because it completely takes the fever away, but I am holding back. All of this can be so confusing. I am tempting to ask for an ENT consult, because it sure seems like one day of surgery would be a lot better than years of meds and confusion. Best of luck to you. Guest guest
Hi Jen H., Thank you for your response. I am sorry your son's fevers have started coming closer together and I can understand the temptation of Prednisone. I will let you know what we decide and what our dr. says. I also do not know if insurance will approve this or not. I guess this is all a step by step process. God Bless, Jen K.
Guest guest
We went straight to having T & A without trying meds. I didn't want to put my daughter on long term meds. if the T & A would work. It did for her. She's been fever free for several years now. Guest guest
Thank you so much!!!! Was it hard to get your doctor to approve it? Did you have any trouble with insurance? Jen
Guest guest
it's hard when you're so close, isn't it? Any chance you can bump up your date? Surgeries get rescheduled all the time, maybe they can fit you in sooner. good luck - in NC
